South Africa Adventures

South Africa Missions Trip
March 19- April 3 2014

Dear world changers,

On the second day into our travel, we were in Frankfurt Germany. During our 8 hour lay over we had the opportunity to minister to global legacy leaders. Upon arriving in Joannesburg, South Africa, we also went treasure hunting in the airport. We ended up praying for a Jewish woman, Sapphire, who’s back was healed. Her and her Jewish friend Jacob were shocked and wondered if we were doing voodoo, but we got to share that it was through Jesus the pain had left. To say the least, they were very surprised and would have invited us to eat with them on the Sabbath if we were not flying out soon.

On Saturday, we went to Knysna and partnered with the local youth group.  In the morning we treasure hunted at the waterfront. One woman who I prophesied over was touched and asked me which church I came from. I just said from the States, but upon her pressing for more info I told her Bethel church. She teared up and explained that a disturbing dream she had the week before had Bethel in it. My prophetic words for her were a peaceful interpretation of her dream. God knew we were going to be exactly there for that woman before we even left our front doors. Dan inspired me to talk with the woman in the tarot Card shop. We said some prophetic words about her loving to climb mountains we she was younger and how her parents had not fully been able to love her as much as she had needed. We also encouraged her that she knew how to love and was a good lover, and her whole continence lightened up. The locals said that she usually wouldn’t talk with anybody, but love opened up a way. Jesus bless her and fill her shop with peace and healing in the name of Jesus!

We then went into a township were I stayed with a part of the team and led a children’s meeting.  It was chaos, in the sense of order, I failed, in the sense of love and being a living jungle gym, we succeeded. We prophesied over the women there and a lady’s foot pain decreased as well as a headache was healed, which we had the little kids pray for.

That night we held a youth service at a local church. Spontaneously, without any plan to ahead of time, the team completely broke out into wild and crazy dancing. I had the opportunity to preach and lead them into encounters with the heart of Papa God for them. Amazingly, I wasn’t very nervous, I just leaned on Jesus.

Testimonies from Sunday:

One lady had a pinched nerve in her shoulder healed, and her knee pain decreased. That afternoon we went to a neighborhood with some locals. In South African culture, when the gate or door is open you walk in, even if you’re a stranger, because you are welcome. It was so strange and uncomfortable for us Americans, but it is such a beautiful openness in their culture! So while we were there we stopped at many houses to pray. On of the coolest parts of this afternoon was activating the locals in prophetic words and prayer. They all were so hopeful and happy especially Deon our taxi driver! We prayed over three adults in the first home; one was healed of a headache. Two we had do a Holy Spirit exercise and they felt peace and one felt lightness like all of the darkness had left. She said she felt something lift off when we prayed for her head. There was a woman who was dying and had lung cancer. We prayed with her and the Presence in her home so thick of God. We anointed her with oil, asked her to squeeze her hand if she felt different because she wasn’t able to speak. She squeezed her hand very rapidly and repeatedly. Then we sang a song with the neighbors and family praising God. Thank you God for seeing these people.

That evening at service we were at a mainly white, young church called Sophar. I was “M.C.” but Holy Spirit set everything up. All the messages from our team members aligned beautifully. God’s presence was there, so I had the congregation focus on Him. Then without prayer or words of knowledge, I told the people to test out their ailments. From being in the presence of God alone, a guy’s back was healed and a man with a broken foot felt his pain decrease. By the end of the night he was all the way healed. One girl I was able to pray for had dead tissue in her knee from an accident and accompanying surgeries. She could feel that 95% of the tissue disappeared after being prayed for multiple times. There was only a bit of discomfort when she walked on her knees where it had hurt badly before.

On Monday we visited a township called Blanco. I felt the joy of the Lord when a team member who had been there three years before described the transformation of that place. We handed out bread and soup. A lady we prayed for was able to breathe better and her chest pain left. A man’s stomach pain left and some of the swelling from water retention decreased under my teammates hand. Two woman’s knees improved, and we prayed for a woman with epilepsy who encountered God. Bless her! Afterwards our translator Stella was tired and was going to lay down to rest. When I asked her if she needed prayer, she said her sinuses were blocked. After prayer she said that her nose cleared up, the head pain was gone and that she had 100% energy and didn’t need to lie down. We didn’t even pray for energy, but our source of life is Jesus and His healing energizes us with life!

In the afternoon we went to Bethesda kids home, ten kids received Jesus and several were speaking in tounges after baptism of the Holy Spirit. One little girl kept talking to me and I still don’t know if it was in the local language Africaans or in tounges. Several heard Jesus speak to them for the first time. Two girls with crossed eyes were there. The younger of the two I prayed for and one eye straightened. The second one I didn’t even pray for but sent Jesus’ love in her direction, by the time we left her eyes were about 95% straighter than when we came.

In the evening we went to Life of Christ Community Church in a township. At these township churches they play music peculiarly loud to attract passer byers; it is lively and full of dance! That night I preached with a translator about how nothing is impossible with God. Everyone in the service that was prayed for was completely healed with the exception of two men. Our team was so good at loving and doing things that would offend the mind because there was no purpose to them other then to love.

Tuesday morning we went to a boy’s juvenile home were they all were waiting for their court dates. We split up into four groups; my group was about fifteen or twenty boys. Every single boy in our group felt the presence of God, and all of them smiled at one point. Eight of them received Jesus (all of the other groups saw many salvations and radical things as well). The change in them from the beginning where they wanted nothing to do with us, to the end, where they were showing off singing and dancing skills was amazing. Shelby said that those who were saved already had their thoughts changing, and that they said they were thinking more positively and full of hope. That is radical transformation of Jesus. Ben who was with another group said he met a boy claiming to be the most wicked and evil boy there. Ben asked if he could pray for him and he said yes. As the unconditional love of the father flowed through Ben, unconditional love started flowing through the boy and he put his hand on Ben’s head saying, “I need this Jesus”. There was a complete and utter shift in his identity from salvation. The next day the warden said that the most notorious boy they had there was now one of the most helpful loving boys there. To blow your mind even more, another member on our team had, had a dream with the name Elrico carved vertically into a piece of wood. This boy’s name was Elrico and he had his name carved into his leg vertically in the same fashion as in the dream. It was as if Jesus was saying his name is now carved into the cross, pre-known and always loved.

That afternoon we went to Life Community Center and about 20 kids piled onto the platform who were hurting. After the remaining kids stretched out their hands and twice said, “be healed in Jesus name,” all but a few were healed. The lady who ran the place then came and pointed out a little girl to me who had one eye completely blind because of an accident with her mother. I started praying for her without seeing much change. Without knowing I was praying for this girl, the group started singing, “Open the eyes of my heart Lord.” I was exuberant because I knew that God wanted to heal her. So I picked her up and started singing, “Open the eyes of Gracie, Lord. Open her up eyes, she wants to see you!” I had her cover her good eye and she could see my hand with her previously blind eye. After praying a bit more, I had her cover up her good eye and she could tell me with her now-not-so-blind eye how many fingers I was holding up with my hand. It was hard to tell because her English wasn’t complete, but I think that her eyesight is now the same in both her eyes. Praise the Lord!

That night we held a service in a township with Pastor Amos. Everybody we prayed for was healed. A woman who needed assistance to walk, and when she did was in excruciating pain, was healed and began to dance and kick and jump about the church on her own. Headaches and severe pains were gone in Jesus name! Thank you God!

Wednesday morning we went to Blanco Township to hand out food again. Two of my team members prayed for a man with a blind eye and a missing eye. He didn’t want to live or have Jesus. After prayer he could see with his remaining eye, accepted Jesus, and was excited about living! We prayed for a woman whose eyesight cleared up and the pain in her legs decreased. Also, a man’s leg grew out and his pain left.

The next portion of our trip we flew to Jo’berg and drove to a more remote town called Klerksdorp with a nearby township called Stilfontein. We stayed with the absolutely inspiring, beautiful ministry of Spirit Word. The only place I’ve seen that emphases the importance of Holy Spirit leading us AND the word of God radically. The love of the word of God jumped unto our team while we were there!

On Friday we went into the township and did a kids service as well as prayed for folks in the hospital. With a local I went to the pregnancy ward were we prayed for pregnant women. At first they mocked us, but by the end they all wanted prayer. Jesus gave me encouraging words for them as well as for one of the workers. She pulled me aside and asked if we were prophets. I got to explain to her that since she knew Jesus she has the same Holy Spirit inside of her. I told her some ways to hear God and had her hold out her hands to feel Holy Spirit. She was super excited, hungry, and encouraged.

That night we went into the township and invited people to come to our open-air meeting. (Crusade style!) We prayed for people and all we had to say was “be healed in Jesus name” and they would miraculously be healed. One woman’s stomach pain left (she had been constantly throwing up after eating), and an elderly woman’s shoulder and knee pain left. She and her daughter were surprised and grateful and lovely. A man who couldn’t walk was able to walk around his house assisted, another woman had tingly sensations in her ankles and more mobility/feeling come back. At the meeting lots of people found Jesus Christ, maybe between forty and sixty. Just by saying, “Be healed in Jesus name” back pain left, headaches left, shallow breathing left from two men; five or so of those healings I witnessed were for gang members. I had the first one who was healed of shallow breathing pray for his friend who also was healed. Another gang member’s rib pain left. They all came to the front and danced at the end. They came to the meeting because they found Jesus in an encounter with another team member Matt Wood. One man came up to me at the meeting whose breath reeked of alcohol. He asked what the meeting was and when he found out it was for Jesus he said he needed to repent. After praying to rededicate his life to God he was still worried because he had known Jesus and still gone back to drinking previously. I got to explain that it is by Holy Spirit’s amazing transformation in us that our natures change. It wasn’t until I prophesied that I saw a pure man in him that I saw his demeanor change and his expression clear up though. I was so full of joy for the encounter of our God and that man. He didn’t just randomly walk up to that meeting. God intended every individual person who was there to be there. It was crazy. The meeting went past dark; maybe 150-200 people were there. There was a little boy at this meeting who wasn’t able to talk because of a stutter. After Jesus healed him he spoke into the microphone, and the whole community erupted because they knew him and that Jesus had made him complete. The deaf heard. Many were healed.

On Sunday we went to the hospital again. A couple headaches left. We also blessed pregnant woman; one’s eyesight improved. In another ward one woman’s arm was cut and infected. The pain left and the swelling decreased after prayer.

At service that night, Annalise gave me a prophetic word and I encountered the crazy goodness of God and had the longest laugh-cry of my life. I am just so in love with Jesus and amazed that he would die for me. It is the most ridiculous thing, but He died for me and He loves me! I came to South Africa to become love, but from this encounter He told me that doesn’t matter, I just need to know that I am loved. I don’t fully know Him, but the spirit in me knows and recognizes Him enough to know He’s so full of goodness and love!

Being at Spirit Word also helped me find the reality that earth is enveloped in heaven. God is not looking down on us He is gazing face to face with us. Every miracle is a manifestation of the alignment of earth with heaven. God is literally breathing in me (not into me, in me). His presence naturally flows from me and that as I walk on this earth people are encountering heaven and Jesus.

God is among us, the kingdom of earth and heaven have come clashing into one existence, one triumphal procession of one great, terribly beautiful song. Christ is the head and I am the body of an unfathomably beautiful bride of Christ. Why? Because it is a gift of grace and nonsensical, melodious love.

Thank you so much for all of your support. These testimonies are not even all of my personal experiences let alone anybody else’ on the team. Many more miracles, signs, and wonders happened on the trip. Some teams were able to do massive school meetings with crazy amounts of people being saved in twenty minutes, and people falling out under the presence of God. Another team was able to partner with local police forces and minister to them. One of our team members experienced bilocation and a little girl saw him singing a song he sang at our meeting the night before he was actually there in person. Which was I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.  Hundreds were healed and saved into the glorious salvation of Jesus Christ.

I thank God for all of His beautiful and crazy and passionate love displayed on this trip. We are nobody special, only Christ is. Christ is in us, is in you. Go forth and do even greater works in your hometowns then we did in South Africa. Love you all so much.

A returned and triumphant daughter,
Sarah Moore
