God Encounter!

John 13:1-10

13 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean."

I had an awesome encounter with God this week, thank you Jesus! It was after reading the passage above. I realize that this is not new theology, but I was thinking about Jesus who having been the greatest came down to be the very least and washing my feet. Essentially, the blood of the cross came down and washed my feet in a stream of blood.

I lay there and tears poured down my face. At that moment God made His Papa Heart Love jump from my head to my heart. For the second time in my life, I knew to a greater extent in my heart how amazing God’s love is. It made me realize that going out and ministering without an encounter is useless. If you can win converts by rationalizing then they can easily lose faith when someone with a better argument comes along. But if you give them an encounter with God, there ain’t nothing in this world that’s gonna convince them otherwise. Mark Brookes, the overseer of first year students, is one of the main reasons that I had this experience. He had us make declarations and released Daddy's love on us. Thank you Mark! You're so good to us! God wants us to be continually living in His love and consider encounters with Him a lifestyle. If any of you out there want one, just ask Him for it, think of how wonderful He is and thank Him while you wait on the Lord. If He doesn’t give you one the first time you ask, keep trying! There is no one that I know that died without ever finding God if they kept pursuing Him. I release to all of you my encounter with God and experience of His love.

This year has officially been made worth it. I found what I was looking for…haha but Papa please keep it coming, I love to be with You!! Thank you thank you!

I love hearing about God encounters too... :)

  1. Sarah,
It's do great to hear what the Lord is doing! Wow! I love to hear stuff like that! There's nothing on earth like an encounter with the Living God! I pray for more- more for you, more for me, and more for us all. Yeah...more. I'm continually amazed at how much I need Gods presence. His presence is always fresh and new. It's never stale or worn out. Lord, give me newness and renew the wineskin of my heart so that the new wine of Your Spirit can fill me up!
At JFC we're addressing strongholds. Heavy duty stuff for sure, but the Lord has revealed that the key to victory in the battle at this time is worship. I'm loving that word! In Judges 1:1-2, the people asked God who should go up to fight the enemy (the Canaanites), and God said to send Judah (ie praise) up for He had given the land into his hand. With worship comes the Presence, so come Holy Spirit!

We send our love and blessing!

    1. Haha so good! I want to worship to a point of inconvenience. To inconvenience my dignity, time, and box of how great God is! Thank you for sharing- I relish hearing things about home. :)

      Blessings!

  2. Well then... Hallapalooza was an amazing success! The atmosphere over JFCLakewood was full of joy with no heaviness or darkness at all. That was totally cool! The worship was effective in many ways. Someone came in for the first time ever and said, "This is so great that I have to come back!" The prophetic prayer was impactful. Many people were ministered to and I got to tell an unbeliever what it was! We gave out nearly 400 hot dogs, so I'm guessing that between 250 and 350 people came? Half of them were Hispanics from the neighborhood. We got to be a blessing to so many. What a previledge! (How do you spell that?)! God did awesome things at the Jr and Sr hi camps. Josh led worship, and some sang propheticly over the kids. Lives were changed and things were broken in.the spirit! Some received callings from God. Intercessory prayer is taking off. More n more are signing up. Worship has been amazing! There was a point last week when God was present and the hearts of the people rose to meet Him. It was beautiful! God said that this was just the beginning, and that it was a glimpse of what is to come! Like you said- God is so, so good! (I'm gonna steal that by the way!) Nothing is ho hum when God is doing stuff! Thanks for being who you are and where you are, because when we're in agreement with God, He can do amazingly cool stuff with and thru us!

    Blessings Back!
