Prophetic declarations can transform people from Paupers to
Princes (for an explanation of the concept look up Kris Vallotton’s site
kvministries.org) and break off lifelong chains or bondages. God desires good
things for us as any father would. We are in agreement with His Papa Heart when
we proclaim freedom for the ones He loves (which is everyone :).
It’s important that we not only pray but also make prophetic
declarations. What we say has an impact on reality. An example would be Obama
being reelected. If you’re disappointed, instead of saying it’s going to be the
worst four years of American history, you should say it’s going to be the best
four years of American history. We have the mind of Christ. If the motivation
is love it’s probably from God. Most of the prophetic words that people give
are just thoughts in their head that sound like themselves. When they give
them, though, they bring life and are often completely accurate. By speaking,
you are partnering with God and setting something into action in the heavenly
realms. By saying negative things, however, you give the enemy a place of
empowerment, because you are agreeing with him. A lie is only as true as you
give it credit. The devil only gained
authority by Adam and Eve agreeing with him and sinning.
Proverbs 23:7 “As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.”
Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Mark 4: 39-40 “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the
waves, ‘Quiet! Bet still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’”
Jesus didn’t ask the Father for the wind to die down; He
simply commanded the elements. He also had the expectation that the disciples would
have the faith to do the same because He rebukes them.
John 14:12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me
will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these,
because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so
that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my
name, and I will do it”
Romans 8:17 “Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs
of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order
that we may also share in his glory”.
As His children and heirs our words are empowered by Him
when they are within His will.
Genesis 2:19 “Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground
all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to
the man to see what he would name them.”
Names identify our nature. Adam had the privilege of naming
the beasts using his God given creativity. His words were prophetic and
revealing God’s divine will by calling out the characteristics of the
creatures. In Ezekiel 37:1-10 the valley of dry bones came to life. By the
spoken word of Ezekiel’s mouth, bones came to life. Our declarations change
reality. Just as Ezekiel was saying what the Lord asked him to say, so should we.
Our words should bring light because we are the light of the world!
1 Peter 3:10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
Psalm 34:13 and Proverbs 13:3 also talk
about stewarding your mouth. Why would they place such significance on your
words if they had no power?
But I am not writing this as a warning!
No! I am excited that we have been given authority as sons and daughters to
prophesy by foretelling and forthtelling! So go out as powerful people and
change the world! Change realities. Realize you have the mind of Christ and
that when you speak there is warfare in the spiritual realm!
